Bridgetown is a community and suburb located within the Cape Flats area of Cape Town, South Africa, a region historically shaped by the Apartheid-era forced removals.

In 1946, Athlone was officially designated a Coloured residential area, a policy under apartheid that forcibly separated racial groups and confined Coloured people to specific areas. Its history is intrinsically linked to the apartheid era, as it was designated a Coloured residential area under the discriminatory policies that enforced segregation and limited opportunities for its residents. The community has since become a testament to resilience, facing challenges like poverty and unemployment while also fostering a strong cultural identity and numerous success stories.

Today, Bridgetown, like many communities on the Cape Flats, continues to grapple with socio-economic challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and crime.

Community Outreach Projects in partnership with Mustadafin Foundation have earmarked Bridgetown Community for our next warm food distribution. We are once again humbly appealing to the community to assist us to reach our goal of collecting 700 loaves of bread for distributing on Saturday 18th October, in sha Allah.
