Malmesbury has informal settlements, particularly the Silvertown area, which faces challenges related to a lack of basic services like water and electricity, leading to community protests and human rights concerns. While the Swartland Municipality has been involved in efforts to provide water and address these issues, the specific challenges of the informal settlement are often complicated by land ownership disputes and legal processes, preventing the municipality from providing formal services until a court ruling is made.
Community Outreach Projects have earmarked Malmesbury for our next warm food distribution. We are once again humbly appealing to the community for us to reach our goal of collecting 1 000 loaves of bread for distributing on Saturday 20th September for Community Malmesbury.
